Dr Mumtaz completed her medical degree from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore in 2015. She also pursued a Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine in 2022 and is an accredited family physician by the College of Family Physicians.

Dr Mumtaz has worked in various departments at the public hospitals including Geriatric Medicine, Emergency Department as well as Psychiatry. She has also worked in Tampines Polyclinic as a resident physician. Her experiences in the public sector have honed her skills in the management of both acute and chronic diseases in patients of all ages. She is also skilled in procedures such as suturing, nail resection and pap smears.
